Európa Publishing is a literary publishing house with great traditions. Its predecessor was established in 1946, and it has been operating under its current name since 1957.
Focusing on world literature and setting high editorial standards, Európa's aim has always been to publish the world's classics and representative contemporary works in excellent translations. Several Hungarian authors of international renown are also published by Európa.
Its scope includes fiction and non-fiction, poetry and drama. Its annual output ranges between 200-230 titles printed in 800.000 - 1.000.000 copies.
The company has long-standing contacts with major authors, publishers and agencies throughout the world.
Európa Könyvkiadó, a key player in Hungarian book publishing, has been voted 'Publisher of the Year' three times since the inception of that award in 2001.
